Report by national research group reviewing Wisconsin road & bridge conditions, congestion, safety available Tuesday

WHAT:

The average driver in the Milwaukee area loses more than $2,300 annually as a result of driving on roads that are deteriorated, congested, and that lack some desirable safety features, according to a new report from TRIP, a national nonprofit transportation research group based in Washington, DC.

The authors of the TRIP report will be available for interviews and comments via phone and Skype beginning at 6:00 a.m. on September 18.

The report, Wisconsin Transportation by the Numbers: Meeting the State’s Need for Safe, Smooth and Efficient Mobility, examines road and bridge conditions, congestion, economic development, highway safety, and transportation funding in Wisconsin. In addition to statewide information, the report contains regional data for the Eau Claire, Green Bay-Appleton-Oshkosh, Madison, Milwaukee and Wassau urban areas.
