WHAT:
The average driver in the Frederick/Hagerstown area loses $1,933 annually as a result of driving on roads that are deteriorated, congested, and that lack some desirable safety features, according to a new report from TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit based in Washington, DC.
Local speakers will join TRIP at a virtual news conference on Wednesday to highlight the report’s findings. The report, “Maryland Transportation by the Numbers: Providing a Modern, Sustainable Transportation System in the Old Line State,” examines road and bridge conditions, congestion, economic development, highway safety, traffic congestion, and transportation funding statewide and in the Baltimore and Frederick/Hagerstown urban areas and the Maryland DC suburbs.
