NEW REPORT EVALUATES HUDSON VALLEY AREA BRIDGE CONDITIONS AND IDENTIFIES LOCAL BRIDGES IN NEED OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

WHAT:
A significant number of bridges statewide and in the Hudson Valley area are rated in poor/structurally deficient or fair condition, according to a new report from TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit based in Washington, DC. Bridges that are rated poor/structurally deficient have significant deterioration to the major components of the bridge. Local speakers will join TRIP on Tuesday to highlight the findings of the report and discuss possible solutions.
The report, Preserving Hudson Valley Bridges: The Condition and Funding Needs of Hudson Valley’s Aging Bridge System, examines local bridge conditions. The report includes lists of bridges in the Hudson Valley area with the lowest average rating for the deck, substructure and superstructure, and of the most heavily traveled poor/structurally deficient bridges in the area.
